Love

I was watching the third episode in a row of How I Met Your Mother last night in the hopes of falling asleep. This is the episode (220) where Marshall and Lily were busy preparing for their wedding. And Lily was listing down wedding clichés which she wants to avoid. The First Corinthians, for example. No one had any idea what it was (me included) until Marshall recited it:

Love is patient and kind,
Love does not envy or boast,
It is not arrogant or rude,
Love does not insist on its own way,
Is not irritable or resentful,
Love bears all things,
believes all things
hopes all things,
endures all things.

I think that is absolutely beautiful. I looked up the First Corinthians and this is a slightly different version of Marshal’s but just as meaningful.

Love is patient,
Love is kind.
It does not envy,
It does not boast,
It is not proud.
It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.

I want that kind of love, so simple, yet deep and strong. We all deserve that much.

yeah, that's very true. i also like "love endures all things", thru good times and bad times, it will prevail.
